Globalization and translation: a culture-bound aspect

Abstract

The article highlights translation in the context of its creative mission in the target culture as well as provides a general framework related to translation as a precondition for the circulation of meaning on a global scale. However, despite current cultural diversity the actual practice of translation actualizes the necessity to hypothesize this phenomenon within a framework of internationalization and globalization that makes it possible to consider the basic practices by which the world is becoming increasingly interrelated due to the processes of cultural exchange. Increasingly attention comes to focus on cultural history and translator‟s role in shaping understanding of other cultures.
